The evening was hosted by Ahmed Hafez, Managing Partner at Hafez and Partners, Hadir Elhakim, Partner – Corporate and M&A, and Dr Ahmed Saad, Executive Director – Head of Capital Markets.
Leading the discussion from DLA Piper Partners was Jean-Pierre Douglas-Henry, Managing Director of Sustainability and Resilience, Counselor Dr Ehab Elsonbaty (PhD), Partner New York/Middle East, Natasha Luther-Jones, International Head of Sustainability and ESG and Global Co-Chair of the Energy and Natural Resource Sector, and Dr Sharon Lesley Fitzgerald, Partner.
The turnout was remarkable and the discussion on the opportunities and challenges reflected a clear-eyed recognition that the role of the private sector in climate change is paramount. The private sector’s interest and engagement also reflected their understanding of the need to invest in real change to create credible transition plans.
