Omar is an associate in our Banking & Finance Department. He focuses on matters relating to banking, project finance, non-banking financial services, as well as general corporate.

He has experience in project finance, syndicated and lending transactions involving leading financial institutions and companies. He also works in renewable energy and real estate projects.

He contributes to drafting agreements, term sheets, legal opinions/reports, conducts due diligence, reviews transaction documents, handling day to day business advice. He also assists his clients in drafting any necessary agreements for an M&A transaction such as share purchase, shareholders, and escrow agreements.

He has represented Altruki Holding for the 100% share sale in their electronics retail Itisalat international and United Retail. He also represented Vodafone Egypt in its potential acquisition of stake in the subsidiaries of Ebtikar Holding. He has also advised EBRD on different legal streams to recover the remainder of its loan Egyptian Borrower and negotiated on its behalf with the defaulting borrower and competent regulator.

Omar holds Bachelor of Laws from Nottingham Trent University and earned his Master’s in International Banking & Finance Law from the University of Leeds. He is a member of the Charter Institute of Arbitrators.
